Hello my lovely blog community. I hope you are all staying safe during this very difficult time.
At the moment face masks aren't recommended in the UK but I do think that any barrier must be a help. This afternoon I made a couple of facemasks following the directions on this video.

I topped stitched around the sides leaving an opening for the disposable liner
I've just watched the tutorial. Thank you for the link. X
ReplyDeleteYour very welcome. I intend to make a few so that I only need wear them once and then they can go straight into a tub until I have a laundry load ready to go in the washing machine.
DeleteHaving a disposal liner seems the perfect answer to making them re-useable. I can't make up my mind about wearing a mask the advice seems to be rather vague, and I do sometimes wonder whether the information we are receiving is completely honest.
ReplyDeleteOnly a handful of people were wearing masks in the supermarket the other day. I think I'd feel safer wearing one next time I am out shopping. Thankfully that won't be for a while.
DeleteWell done! I wish I could sew! I have crocheted some facemasks but they look like I am wearing a diaper on my face! (You would say nappy.)
ReplyDeleteOh well, I will wear it anyway and tell my friends and family to do the same!!
STay safe!
Hi Kay. These are really very simple and don't need any skill really. The video is really straight forward
DeleteNow you'll be prepared if/when the recommendation arrives. Thanks for the link - I have to get busy and make some of these as well.
ReplyDeleteIt would be a nice project to hand sew while watching TV.
DeleteWorth having a few made and ready as circumstances change, Take care and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteI must be honest and say that I would feel a bit safer in public spaces if everyone wears a mask.
DeleteWell done & we've a couple of hubby's that he uses for woodworking in the car, although basically we aren't going anywhere except if we need milk. I've printed off a tutorial from AQS, which looks quite good. Take care & stay safe.
ReplyDeleteThey look lovely, luckily here in my bubble in the middle of the cornish countryside we don't see anyone. Stay safe. Emmax
