Along the lanes I'd love to wend, near Artist's Mews, on Writer's Bend. Where fragrant flowers of every hue sparkle in the morning dew. I wish I lived in Carver's Valley, Quilter's Creek or Cross Stitch Alley. Just think of all the things I'd make, if I lived by Crafters Lake.......... A lovely gentle kind of day
This morning I flicked the bedroom TV on and stayed in bed until just before 8. The only reason we have a TV in the bedroom is because Alexander has no room for it. It's come from his old house and was far too good to get rid of. Oh how I wish I had put a TV in the bedroom this time last year when my leg kept me awake all night. Having been dead against having one in the bedroom I can now see why people have them there. When I got up I ran a bubble bath and had a lovely long soak before getting dressed. Breakfast was fruit and yoghurt and for lunch I had pilchards on toast. A little bit of housework filled an hour then for a while I read some of my book and browsed tinterweb. Tea tonight was a gorgeous roast pork joint with Yorkshire puds and veggies. There is plenty for Tony to take some roast pork buns both tomorrow and Friday and there is still plenty for me to put some slices of pork in a rich gravy and serve it with chips and petits pois on Friday. I have a chicken curry defrosting in the fridge for tomorrow. Planning ahead means that I can pretty much fill my days with whatever takes my fancy. After tea I made a quick batch of little cupcakes in the microwave and topped them with buttercream and some of the raspberry jam that I made the other day. Tony can take a couple to work and we can have one each after tea tomorrow night if we fancy something a bit sweet. How has your day gone?

My goodness...I am coming to dinner...yummy ideas you have...Yup...After all these years, I still have fabric that is too beautiful to cut...but not too beautiful to pat and love xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou would be made very welcome.
DeleteThat sounds like an easy day, but really you fitted in so much & just made it sound like that. Our days sort of run along those lines, though we are retired oldies & not being able to get a few of his woodworking necessities at the moment, DH is a little bored. And the weather is not helping either. Hobbies, garden, housework & cooking all help in times like this. Take care, stay safe & hugs from down under.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan. Each time you mention your hubby's wood working project it reminds me that I haven't finished my current carving. I will have to get it out of the garage and get on with it. I think that once the weather picks back up here I might take it out into the garden and finish it.
DeleteIt was a busy day as I travelled downtown to do a few hours in my office. I had to update a few things and pick up some research materials so wasn't there very long and only saw one other person on the way out. Since I had to leave the house anyway I decided to combine a few other errands. Hit a small, upscale supermarket (which made a change from my local No Frills), 2 different drugstores (got some items at one that I couldn't get at the other) and then hit the liquor store on the way back to the subway. All of these stores were located in the underground shopping area under the Financial District - and since almost everyone is working from home it was really quiet - no lineups and in and out in no time. Also went to an ATM - wore a mask and gloves at all times. The subway is almost empty and seats are all marked so that you can only sit in a few spots in order to maintain 2m apart. Wasn't an issue.
ReplyDeleteWhen I got home I had to go through the whole cleaning and disposing routine - that is what takes forever - but at least it's done! Caught up with a friend via the phone - made supper for my elderly neighbour and now I'm finally sitting down - need some arthritis strength Tylenol as my left knee is acting up again (too much sitting around). Aside from a couple of trips to take out the garbage and have a brief walk, I don't plan on going out again until next Friday.
Going to give myself a bit a spa day tomorrow.
I hope your knee is feeling better. Arthritis is a miserable pain to have isn't it. I find that if I sit for too long my non operated hip really complains. I am trying to eke out the housework so that I have at least a couple of small jobs each day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely day.
