A complete waste of time

When Tony was clearing his secret garden he cut down a few saplings that had seeded there and grown over a couple of years. I asked him to save one for me as I want to carve a long snake for the garden. I spent ages scraping the bark from it today and then once I had begun to shape it decided it was far too wet to carve. It has been put under the pergola to dry for a few months and then I will set to and carve my snake.  The apple blossom on my neighbours tree looks stunning as usual. It's lovely to look out of the conservatory window and listen to the birds while we enjoy such a pretty sight. I can see it from my sofa in the sitting room too.

The potential snake... once it dries a bit

The red acer is looking so pretty.  I wish I could capture just how lovely it is.

  4. Carving - yet another skill to add to the many others. I'm really looking forward to seeing the results.
