For our evening meal I am going to cook a rolled breast of lamb. The ones from Aldi are delicious and if you look through them carefully some are much meatier than others. My aim is to stud it all over with garlic and rosemary and then sit it on a bed of onions. I'll cook it long and low in the oven and serve it with mixed veg and Yorkshire puds. A little treat is called for so I am thinking of making a bread and butter pudding with the fruit loaf that I bought the other day.
We bought a tray of eggs last night from a local free range supplier. We have been buying them there for several years and the price still hasn't gone up. £3.50 for thirty eggs is an absolute bargain and they are beautiful tasty ones.
For our next craft project you will need an empty breakfast cereal box and a newspaper or magazine. Preferably not a glossy magazine as glue sticks better to the cheaper paper. You will also need some PVA glue, a pair of scissors and you will find a barbecue skewer or thin knitting needle will come in very handy. My friend is calling in at lunch time and staying the afternoon while we are still allowed to socialise so I won't be able to make it today. Stay safe everyone, I will catch up with all your blogs later today.
That lamb sounds delicious and flavorful. Herbs make all of the difference in cooking.
