Along the lanes I'd love to wend, near Artist's Mews, on Writer's Bend. Where fragrant flowers of every hue sparkle in the morning dew. I wish I lived in Carver's Valley, Quilter's Creek or Cross Stitch Alley. Just think of all the things I'd make, if I lived by Crafters Lake.......... Feeling guilty
Tony and I popped over to Tesco first thing this morning. We picked up a four pack of loo rolls from the near empty shelf and I almost felt the need to tell people that I wasn't stock piling. We did remember to buy a couple of white cabbages and a couple of swedes (or maybe they are turnip). They last for ages and I can hack off however much we need. Turnip/swede is lovely mashed into potato for the top of a cottage pie and white cabbage is so useful for stir fries and winter slaw. I wonder how soon the fresh stuff starts to disappear from the shelves. If they are closing the borders then how will food get through? OOOOH I know, why not buy British? Less food miles and our farmers will be able to make a living. That is of course if there is anyone allowed to pick the flippin produce.

Swedes are big, turnips are small.
ReplyDeleteRoot vegetables and winter vegetables are so useful for long-term storage, aren't they? I always have carrots, turnip, and cabbage on hand. Like you said, they are so handy.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the toilet paper lol. I always have a few rolls on hand (usually saved for camping or if I ever forget to pick some up) but we were down to two rolls on the back of the toilet and I was doing our weekly shop. There was absolutely none when I went shopping but when I went to pick up bird seed at another shop they did have some. I felt a little guilty buying it like I shouldn't just because lol.
ReplyDeleteIt will all work out somehow. I have lots of potatoes and winter squash. Cabbage is a good idea. Thanks.
