I've been following Joys blog for quite some time and am using a lot of her meal ideas. It's keeping me motivated and although I don't follow it slavishly I often adapt the tasty recipes that she posts. Today I had fruit and yoghurt. It was so tasty and filling that I didn't feel the need for my usual bran flakes. I don't bother with low fat varieties as I think they just don't have the taste or 'mouth feel' of their full fat cousins. I am a firm believer in portion size being the cause of many weight problems. The bowl I use is about the size of half a medium grapefruit. It felt tiny when I first started using it but now find that my standard bowls feel huge. Try measuring thirty grams of cereal into a small bowl. It fills it nicely and before long you won't even think about wanting a huge bowl.

Ghee update. It is a bit on the dark side but perfectly ok according to the video that I watched, I won't cook the butter for quite so long if I make any more. I only used half the block of butter just in case it went wrong. I didn't have unsalted butter so will buy that next time
This is the video I used

I totally agree about protion sizes and, I gather, a 'normal' dinner plate nowadays holds about twice as much as a normal dinner plate three or four decades ago. And when you think of the size of pub meals . . .
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely comment about the blog and I'm really glad it helps.

You are such a busy bee! I love how you always make your own meals. Sometimes I am too lazy to bake.
