Stephenie's lotion bars

On Monday, Stephenie posted a recipe on her blog for lotion bars.  I already have bee's wax and coconut oil so I ordered Shea butter from tinterweb. It arrived yesterday and this afternoon I plan to make some lotion bars of my own. I am determined to do away with as much plastic as I can and will never buy hand cream in plastic bottles again. I am planning on putting some of the home made hand lotion in a tiny glass jar. It held jam or chutney at some point and is the perfect size for my handbag.
Here is a link to Stephenies blog if anyone is interested in having a go.

  1. Thanks for the link. A very interesting entry. I have beeswax and coconut oil but I have no idea what shea butter is - better look it up.
Will it work in a glass jar - it seems to be the sort of thing that you rub on yourself - the bar, I mean.
How did they go? It sounds really interesting asd I might have a go myself, especially as I get very dry hands on the winter so thank you so much for this.
    xx

  2. Hi Cherie, That's great that you are reusing your little jam jars. I do the same thing. I have a recipe for deodorant, too. I'll post it next week on the blog. It's satisfying to make your own, and to do away with packaging.
