Along the lanes I'd love to wend, near Artist's Mews, on Writer's Bend. Where fragrant flowers of every hue sparkle in the morning dew. I wish I lived in Carver's Valley, Quilter's Creek or Cross Stitch Alley. Just think of all the things I'd make, if I lived by Crafters Lake.......... A good washing day
It's dry outside on the garden path for the first time in ages. No sign of frost or damp at all. I think a line drying day might be on the cards. I love the smell of fresh from the clothes line laundry. Removing the huge hedge has allowed so much more sunlight into the garden that we wonder why it took us so long to take it out. The new golden privet looks really pretty if a little sparse.. Give it a few years and it will be beautiful. We plan to keep this one down to five feet which will allow the late winter sun into the garden rather than casting a huge shadow across the entire garden at this time of year. Our neighbour has a huge green privet and we now see that it is tall enough to cast shadow over part of our garden. Her garden is completely shaded by her hedge at this time of year. We are wondering if she might be tempted to take a couple of feet off the top of it when she sees how taking out our pyracantha has made so much difference to our garden.
