Fair isle socks

Yesterday I unravelled the socks that I had started as somehow they felt a bit loose for my foot.  I will use a smaller needle with this yarn . In truth I had hoped that the yarn colours would 'pool'  and give me pretty splodges of colour but it didn't happen. Probably should have frogged them sooner but I was trying to persevere. Anyway,  I have decided that I will try knitting a pair of fair isle patterned socks using the plain cream and the pink splashy yarn.
Today I am going to see a Sports injury therapist. The therapist is a blind gentleman and I am told he can do wonderful things to alleviate  pain caused by hip OA. I have seen a number of you tube videos that suggest the pain is a secondary cause of OA. Hips can look absolutely shattered but cause little discomfort yet others show very little damage but are causing severe pain  I'm hoping that he can give me some relief from the pain in my hip. I feel it is worth a try and then I will have exhausted all avenues before I finally succumb to the surgeons knife.
Today is 'decs down' day. Tony and I will get everything put away and then I can make a start on a deep clean of everywhere.  I'm ready for them to come down and have been sneaking a few things away this past week and Tony hasn't even noticed.

  1. I shall be interested to see how this goes. My hip comes and goes. Sometimes I nip around and others I'm almost on my knees.
I do not intend to have any surgery so if there's something to help the pain I would be there.
I can see those socks in my minds eye, they are going to be lovely.

  2. Hi Cherie, I know the feeling of socks being too baggy. They stretch out, too. I may start making mine on size 0 needles. I had some sock yarn that looked like that knit up. I preferred it crocheted. The difference was night and day.

  3. I hope this works for you, is it something covered by NHS?

    1. I don't think it will be but never thought to ask the doctor at our practice. It cost £30 for a half hour session
