Well when I say planting I do actually mean sowing. I have a few packets of seeds that could be planted now if I had somewhere warm to keep the emerging seedlings... which I don't at the moment as every windowsill is still full of Christmas stuff. I was heartbroken to see that a lot of my pomegranate seedlings have died. They were really mouldy and if I'd seen it sooner I might have been able to do something about it. I had put them in the little greenhouse under the pergola which I thought would give them some extra protection from the cold. I hadn't factored in the damp... Lesson learned. I moved a few to the workshop which I keep heated so hopefully I will still have a few survivors. I am planning on making a seedling area in the workshop this summer. It won't need a lot of space, just a few shelves that will be used to overwinter plants.
My houseplants are looking really pretty and I am so glad that I bought them. You should see the Avocado plants on the windowsill. They look a little tired but have overwintered really well. They desperately need potting on and I will do that this weekend once all the decorations are away. I bought a pot of coffee seedlings last year and hope to separate them into individual plants. They look so green and glossy and will be a welcome touch of greenery around the house once I have had a good clean up.

The avocado plants are doing well. It's too bad about your other seedlings. I guess that's how we figure things out, though. We can't sow seeds - even inside - until about April or May, as they can't go out in the ground until late June. Our growing season is short!
