The nights are getting colder

Tony and I love when the nights start getting colder and we can snuggle up under a warm fluffy blanket. It isn't cold enough to need the fire lighting but the logs are all chopped ready to burn when it gets really cold.  I have had to bring the avocado and date seedlings indoors as it would be too cold outdoors.  Each morning I put them in the porch where it is warm and sunny. The porch is very  cold at night so each evening I bring them into the hall. This will go on until it is too cold during the day to put them in the porch. When that day arrives I will move them into the spare bedroom.
This morning starting off cold and bright but quickly turned into a lovely day. I have been out for a walk with my friend and then came back to make a few pasties and sausage rolls.  Tony is off to the footie tomorrow and he can take a couple of sausage rolls and a pasty to eat when he gets there.  We don't eat a huge amount of pastry so he will thoroughly enjoy them.

  1. We light the stove mid afternoon for a couple of hours to arm our little cottage through for these cooler evenings. Those pasties look delicious.

  2. Those look delicious! And look at all the baby plants - you have such a talent for growing things, Cherie.

  3. Oh, your photos make me want to make ravioli. I have lots of fresh eggs from my chickens. Maybe I will. I have started using my hand knit alpaca throw in the mornings, too. I love the cold! It's knitting weather.

  4. The heating is on now here in the evenings and the blankets are on the sofa.
    My favourite time of year.
