We went to a ceilidh on Saturday night and so long as I didn't twist myself I was able to ignore the pain and enjoy the dancing... until I slipped on something and fell over. We have been to dozens of ceilidhs in the past and I have never fallen over. I felt an utter fool and the pain in my hip was excruciating. To my surprise it seemed to lessen off on Sunday and we were able to man the carving club stand' at a local event. We only stayed a few hours as my leg was starting to ache but we did enjoy being there. Unfortunately the pain came back with a vengeance yesterday. I think it may have been caused by sitting around in the hospital waiting room while Tony had an eye appointment there. I hardly slept last night and feel like a wrung out rag today. Thankfully I am seeing the doctor in the morning and hopefully he will suggest a treatment plan.
Tony insists that I should rest today but the pain isn't going to be any less if I sit around feeling sorry for myself. I will potter on in a gentle way as long as I am able.
Yesterday we bought a couple of growbags and as soon as I have soaked my poorly hip in a hot bath I am planning on potting on the little plants that we bought on Saturday. We bought the growbags instead of big bags of compost as we would much prefer to start the spring planting with fresh compost that hasn't sat around in my bin for six months. The grow bags are half the size and I am sure to use pretty much all the compost before the end of winter. I also managed to buy three more of the glazed pots on sale and very nearly bought a Sansevieria plant. I am glad I didn't buy the one in the garden centre as we popped into Tesco to do a bit of shopping and they had some lovely ones in little glazed pots. I stood it next to my pretty owl lamp and it seems very happy there.
Oh Cherie...I am so sorry that you are in such pain.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if anyone else has suggested it but have you thought of trying a TENS machine? I used one when I had a really bad back problem and it helped a lot.
Be gentle on yourself today.
Hugs-x-
Thanks Sheila... I will consider anything that will give me some relief. I will see the doctor tomorrow and see what he can suggest
