The job so far. picture heavy

I promised a few pictures so I am sharing them in all their glory this morning.  The climbing rose that covers covered the pergola had caused it to twist and this is probably what caused the post to snap. I have such plans for this space. The internal measurement is about 10 feet square.

There was a whole pile of windfall apples from my neighbours tree. I usually pick them and freeze  loads but the freezer is still full to the brim with cherries from earlier this month

The pergola looks strangely naked without the climbing rose but in truth it was so disfigured by black spot that I don't mind losing it. I am planning on putting strings across one side next year and growing sweet peas up the strings.  It will be lovely to sit under the pergola taking cuttings with the scent of sweet peas and jasmine filling the air around me. On the right hand side of the pergola is a wall where I am planning on putting pots of veggies and busy lizzie next year. It will be very colourful and productive

The ivy after its haircut

The damaged post was leaning down the garden

Now it is splinted and steady as a rock.  I will attach a 'flower pouch or two' to it and grow something pretty next year

The start of my new pergola roof.

It looks very green and lush out there this morning
