This morning Tony and I had a drive through the beautiful Yorkshire scenery. We called into Mainsgill Farm shop (www.mainsgillfarm.co.uk/) and bought some utterly lovely gourmet foods... If I should ever win the lottery I fully intend to shop there full time. We are planning to visit later in the year and buy a whole load of special treats to eat over the Chr***mas period.... It's too soon to even think about that C word but we have noticed it popping up everywhere just lately. The range of food in the shop is utterly breath taking for a foodie...Alexander will love it as both he and Hannah love nice food. When I was a young mum I kept quails and sold the eggs to a local deli. Prices haven't really gone up a great amount in thirty years. I had twenty two quail and they laid twenty four eggs each day. We never knew who was laying more than one.
I treated myself to a magazine too. This is a rare thing for me to do but I just felt a bit frivolous today. I bet it would be a nice place for WI/Cookery groups to visit as the local scenery is stunning and the farm shop tearoom is fabulous

Enjoy your treats, they look good, love the sound of the gin.
ReplyDeleteI do love a good farm shop Cherie and we visit our nearest quite often for a treat or two.

I love gourmet food, too. Those quail eggs are stunningly beautiful. I've never had them. I didn't know that quail could lay more than one egg per day. What an incredible return you got on your investment. I just bought some ripe strawberries and made sweetened whipped cream. It's nice to enjoy some decadence now and then...
ReplyDeleteLovely tasty goodies, must admit seems lots thinking about that C word lately - noooo its tooo early! haha I hope you have a good week. Emmax
