Along the lanes I'd love to wend, near Artist's Mews, on Writer's Bend. Where fragrant flowers of every hue sparkle in the morning dew. I wish I lived in Carver's Valley, Quilter's Creek or Cross Stitch Alley. Just think of all the things I'd make, if I lived by Crafters Lake.......... A bit sad
Today I had to make a really difficult decision to cull some of the baby fish. Three of my baby fish had deformities which weren't apparent until they were larger. One of the fish did a funny dancing swim around the tank but I couldn't see what was wrong. I noticed today that it doesn't have a dorsal fin and its flipper fins and tail were very tiny in relation to the rest of its body. I couldn't bring myself to kill it so popped it back in the pond with the big fish. They will eat it in one mouthful. Two other fish have deformed spines so they two went into the pond with the big fish. It wasn't an easy thing to do but I think it was the kindest thing to do.

How sad. I didn't know that fish could be born with deformities. Their shape looks so simple. Hopefully it will be quick and painless for them.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think so too. Still a hard choice. Nature - lovely and terrible, both.
ReplyDeleteThat is very sad Cherie but the kindest thing in the circumstances.
