Mens boxer shorts
This morning I asked Tony to leave a pair of his boxer shorts out so that I can take a pattern from it. I reckoned that I could simply lengthen the leg and make some shorts for me to wear in the garden.... my legs are not going to scare anyone by taking them out naked in public. I tried them on to make sure of the fit and was astonished to find that they just look like a nice pair of cotton shorts... I won't bother making any now I simply went on ebay and ordered three pairs for £5.99..... I will use some of the fabric in my stash to sew pockets on and make them look a bit more girly. I will trim around the leg with some pretty lace... et voila... el cheapo shorts for wearing in the garden... it was hardly worth making them when I can buy them ready made.

I wear some cotton pyjama bottoms belonging to DH when we are sitting privately in the shade. Like you, I started wanting to make a pattern and ended up borrowing them permanently. I then found a full length pair he had for a hospital stay and cut those to must above the knee. Sorted!
