Many years ago Tony and I attended 'stained glass classes' at a local community centre. We often drove over to Barnsley to buy sheets of coloured glass for projects. About 14 years ago, Tony swapped out some nasty etched translucent glass in the kitchen door for this gorgeous coloured glass. Well, for Christmas one year, I bought Tony a box of twelve sheets of coloured mirror glass. I thought he might have fun cutting it up and using it in projects... It is so beautiful that he just couldn't bring himself to cut it. The glass has languished in the cellar since then. On a whim the other day I ordered a whole load of wire plate hangers from ebay. Yesterday we put them onto the glass and have hung it on the wall. A red sheet is in the kitchen and these 6 are adorning the wall in my living room. It looks so beautiful and changes with the light through the window. Tony had a brilliant idea for the edge of the glass. We cut up drinking straws and have slipped them onto the edge of the glass under the plate hangers where they grip the glass. It will stop the mirror backing from being damaged. I have some very beautiful heavily textured sheets of silver mirrored glass looking for a space in my house. I think I may have to make a space on my craft room wall.
