Along the lanes I'd love to wend, near Artist's Mews, on Writer's Bend. Where fragrant flowers of every hue sparkle in the morning dew. I wish I lived in Carver's Valley, Quilter's Creek or Cross Stitch Alley. Just think of all the things I'd make, if I lived by Crafters Lake.......... Cruelty
I hate injustice of any kind and can't abide being around people who 'tear to shreds' anyone who isn't around at that moment. Yesterday such a horrible injustice took place.. I wasn't there but was so hurt for the people involved. A lovely couple used to walk with the walking group... the lady has dementia which has gotten progressively worse. They hadn't walked in the group for ages as they do other things. Yesterday they turned up to walk with the group and were pretty much ignored by everyone. In the café the lady's husband set up the table and chairs for everyone (the way he had done in the past) the rest of the walking group completely ignored them and sat somewhere else. I am told that the gentleman told the group what he thought of them.. and it wasn't pleasant. I won't be walking with that group again and will simply walk with a couple of friends. I got in touch with the gentleman and have invited them over for a cuppa. My garden is safe for the lady to sit in and she might find the goldfish in my garden pond are a relaxing thing to look at. I hope that the walking group reflected on their behaviour last night... I hope they feel ashamed of themselves.

Knowing you well my dear Cherry Bounce I Think you andyour company are worth ten of the rude lot. You have made a lovely gesture and I am proud to call you friend
ReplyDeleteBless you pet. xxx
DeleteI do despair sometimes about how nasty some people can be. The internet is full of trolls, fighting in city centres, horrific incidents where people physically attack someone. It makes me want to go and live on an uninhabited island.
ReplyDeleteI have wanted to do that for a very long time.
DeleteIt is amazing how childishly adults can behave, and how lacking in empathy. Well done on taking action to help balance out the result.
ReplyDeleteI find it so shocking that a group of people could behave in such a way.
ReplyDeleteGood on you for your reaction to the unpleasantness. X
I can't even begin to imagine how the gentleman must have felt. I do hope he really tore them off a strip
DeleteJust awful. How can people be so inhumane. Dementia can happen to any of us and I don't blame the lady's husband for being upset by their behaviour. I hope they realise by now that their behaviour was completely out of order.
ReplyDeleteHazel, I was so upset when I heard what had happened. I can't imagine what possessed them to behave like that
DeleteOh that's horrible; What a kind gesture of you Cherie xx
ReplyDeleteI felt sick when I heard what had happened.
DeleteThat is just disgusting Cherie.
ReplyDeleteBless you for inviting them over and showing them that not all people are so cruel and unkind.
Big Hugs-x-
Sheila, I didn't realise that anyone could be so cruel.
DeleteI love your idea of inviting them over privately for a quiet time in your garden. I bet you are right that the lady will enjoy watching the goldfish, it will be a respite for the man and he will so appreciate your kindness. You are so thoughtful. Thank you for thinking of it and let us know how it works out. JanF
ReplyDeleteBless you Jan, I will enjoy the company of the couple as I haven't seen them for ages. They were the first people to walk with me when I set up this particular group.
DeleteI have been having trouble posting a comment.
ReplyDeleteTrying again.
You did a wonderful thing in inviting them to visit you privately. I bet the lady will enjoy watching the fish , they will both have a little respite and change of scene. For them man it will be a lovely break. You were very thoughtful and I cannot think of anything kinder that you could do. Thank you.
Sadly i find adults can be extremely rude and obnoxious. Lots of hugs Emmax
ReplyDeleteEmma, they are worse than children
