Apples and pears.

This morning while out for my walk I gathered these gorgeous apples and pears from the grass verges near to my house. I've been gathering the pears for the last couple of weeks and there's still plenty on the tree so hopefully I have a few more weeks of collecting free pears.

It's a lovely morning  and I've just finished planting my crocus and tiny iris bulbs. They'll make a gorgeous display in the spring with the wallflowers and viola. Poor birds won't know what on earth is going on with the weather it's so unseasonably mild. I seem to have a good signal on the phone today so I'll try and comment on your blogs. Please forgive me if I don't.  The signal is so hit and miss that it frequently drops off when I try to respond to your comments.  I really do appreciate that you take the time to leave a comment and I feel awful that I'm not able to reply.  Home broadband is so much easier to use but we are saving £40 each month so worth me persevering without it.

  2. I appreciate you still posting by phone. You provide a calmness to my frantic life ( or what feels frantic right now.) The apples and pears are terrific to still have. I need a new lap top, but I'm saving by holding off a while. One of my kids will upgrade and I'll get their caste off. My phone or using hubs works for now. I occasionally use my work for a fast personal task, but try to avoid that.

  4. The squirrels robbed our apple trees this year - thank goodness for our Lidl Waste Not boxes for keeping us in cheap, British grown fruit!
Our robin tapped the window at Jon yesterday demanding mealworms! xxx

    1. Tony hates the squirrels. They cause so much damage.

  5. Are they good for fresh fruit eating or do you need to cook them for crumbles, apple sauce, etc.? Good luck using your phone. I've only got an old fliptop & really can't afford anything too fancy so will stick with home internet for now. Take care & hugs.
