Carpet tiles

I don't want to end this post on a sad note so I will start with some sad news.  I have just had a phone call to say that my friend Elaine's mum died yesterday.  Maureen was one of life's kind gentle souls and will be sorely missed by her family..

Bless you Maureen... You were a lovely lady,  rest in peace.

A week or so ago there was a post on Katie's recycle blog ( http://kayerunrig.blogspot.com ) about a social enterprise that sells reclaimed carpet tiles from offices and businesses.  We have been decorating Alexander's house ready to sell and it needed some sort of floor covering for the bathroom.  I had planned on vinyl but the cost is silly as it's such a big bathroom and quite an odd shape. The carpet tiles are a great alternative as we are sure that whoever buys the house will rip out the old bathroom and do a complete makeover in there. I paid £27 for five square metres of tiles.  They are listed as 'B grade'  and we weren't sure what to expect.. They have just arrived and look brand new. If you are looking for a cheap floor covering then I would highly recommend the company.  I looked for them on ebay..   Greenstream flooring.

  1. Great tip on the tiles! I will look into it.
    Sorry for your friends loss

  2. How sad Cherie. I'm so sorry for her loss.

    Those carpet tiles are lovely.

  3. That's brilliant.
My condolences to Maureen's family and friends.

  4. Just catching up so it was sad to read about your friends loss, sincere condolences. A great tip on the carpet tiles.

  5. You are so clever. It's amazing all that you are doing these days, with your new hip. I'm so impressed.
