I've been tortured again

Today I had a second massage from the sports injury bloke.  Tony came with me this time and held my hand throughout. You would think I was in labour the racket I made. I am sure that Tony paid extra to have me tortured in front of him... It has put Tony off having a massage though as he was contemplating it next time his ankle swells up.  I came home and had an Epsom salts bath and am now curled up in my jimjams. Actually I am not curled up as my nurse friend Kath has forbidden me from curling my legs under my body. She says I am doing the poorly hip no good at all when I sit like that but in truth sometimes it's the only way I can get comfortable.
Did anyone watch Jimmy and Jamie last night?  It had never even occurred to me that egg products in meals are not necessarily free range. That lovely glossy pastry or pie you bought might have been glazed with egg from caged birds. Surprisingly Mc Donald's use only free range eggs in all of their range. We only ever buy free range eggs and in fact today we bought a tray of two and half dozen for £3.50 at a little farm shop that we use. I also bought some gourmet 'hog roast' sausages... I think a scotch egg session is on the cards. We didn't buy the free range chicken though  £11.50 is a bit steep for a chicken. One day when money is no object we will stump up the cost.. In the meantime we will just have to buy from Mr Tesco.

  1. Hopefully the torture/massage will bring some relief in the long term. All our girls are now laying so we are getting 6 eggs daily at the moment.

    1. I would love to keep a few chickens but it is never going to happen so I will just enjoy the ones from the farm. He sells duck eggs in the summer too and it's lovely to see them all out in the field

  2. Free range is more expensive here too, of course, but we've cut back on meat intake to help compensate. There is less range of cuts, though, so I still end up buying regular sometimes, which then makes me feel guilty.

    I hope your treatment helps.

    1. We have very small portions of meat and loads of veg. I try to buy as much fresh stuff as I can and now that it is soup season I waste very little.
