Hurworth Country Fair

Today Tony and I were manning the carving club stand with several other club members at Hurworth Country show. The weather was nicer than we expected and there was a really good turnout. I bought some gorgeous artisan bread from one stand  and a few packets of honey oat flapjacks from another. The ladies selling the flapjacks were seriously under priced so I suggested that they double the cost.  They weren't brave enough to do that but did add an extra 50p to each packet.... they had sold every packet by 1.30pm. They were also selling home made jam and jars of honey... all seriously under priced. Bless them, they hadn't sold at a country show before and were only pleased to sell them. There were a few promotional stands there offering free glasses of wine with cheese and biscuits... I had to accept their kind freebies now didn't I?  :-) In the hall was a little craft and produce competition.. Tony suggested that I enter next year so we spoke with one of the organisers about it... I will seriously consider entering next year.

  1. That's great! You should. It's too bad that women tend to underprice their time and talent. There are so many hidden costs.
