Chimney pots

In my garden I have two chimney pots.  They are placed in different areas of the garden and I throw snips and scraps from the garden into them.  I occasionally add the mowings from the lawn and include the odd paper towel and dry stalks from the plants. I have a plant in a pot on top of each of them and they make great little wormeries.  The worms and woodlice are having a great time turning it all into compost. The liquid that runs off is adding nutrients to the soil for the surrounding plants. I would love a couple more for different areas of the garden and wouldn't mind adding a large tumbling tomato plant next year. The tumbling tomatoes seem to crop for weeks and weeks and would feed us all through the late summer and autumn.

  1. Great idea, I shall shamelessly steal that, I have a few large clay drainage tubes behind the greenhouse. There will be one in each bed before the week is out.

    1. It's nice to see you back again Pam. I bet the peace and quiet is wonderful. :-)… and I hadn't thought of using drainage tubes so I shall steal that idea now.
