I had a lovely walk with my friend yesterday. The weather was warmer than we expected it to be and seeing the leaves starting to fall from the trees was magical. I do enjoy this time of year. In fact I enjoy each of the seasons as they arrive. This year the logs are all cut and stacked so I won't be chopping logs in the middle of winter. I very nearly threw a bowl of large pine cones into my green waste bin today... Stopped myself in time as I have a large piece of red ribbon and plan to make a pretty swag to decorate the log store. It is under the shelter of the pergola and so the swag won't get spoilt now that Tony has put a roof on it. Can't decide though whether to make an Autumn swag or wait and make it for Christmas. I will ponder that dilemma for a while.

Your leaves are falling already? We aren't used to that until late October! What a lovely photo. Looks like a nice spot for your walk.
ReplyDeleteWe thought the contrast of the very green leaves on the trees and the brown ones on the floor was surprising. It looked as though someone had scattered a giant bag of brown leaves along the footpath. Leaves start to drop round about now and continue for quite some time. We are surprised at how green the leaves still are as they usually look a lot more golden brown at this time of year
DeleteI look forward to seeing it. I have tons of huge pinecones in a backyard bin. I would like to make something with them. They are so pretty.
