A tootle about kind of day

The weather has been so gloriously sunny today that it would have been a shame to waste it. We had a tootle over to Guisborough and then across the moors to Whitby. We drove through Sandsend and had a slow tootle back through some glorious scenery. We stopped off for a light lunch in a little cafe and then had a wander around Helmsley.... I would live there in a blink as I adore the place. Every year without fail we find ourselves in Helmsley twixmas. This evening, Tony has gone for a couple of pints and a catchup with 'the blokes'  and I am busy working on a knitted shawlette. I was given the wool about five years ago as a leaving present. It is hand spun and hand dyed  (black) but unfortunately it is very scratchy,.hence the shawlette.  I have ordered some tiny 'rainbow pompom' braid to stitch along the bottom for a splash of colour and it will look really pretty when it is finished. It is ages since I knitted a shawlette and it hasn't taken very long to make. When the braid arrives and I have stitched it onto the shawlette I will post a photo.
The weather forecast for tomorrow looks like we might get a good dumping of snow. I think a day of crafting is on the cards and I think my 'birthday card' stash needs replenishing. I have great plans to not forget anyones birthday next year... I had that plan last year too but am rubbish at remembering.... Yes I do write it on the calender... Then I forget to look at the calender. Hopefully 2018 will have me checking it every morning.
