Not fifty shades of grey

Just before Christmas last year I decided that I would 'embrace the grey and ditch the dye'.   I chickened out in March but since then I have braved it out through various strange colours of wash in wash out (they don't)  dyes.  Yesterday was the final cut to remove any traces of dye and guess what?????????  I am nowhere near as grey as I thought I might be.  I would even venture to suggest that I am actually a genuine ash blonde.   Now bear in mind that it must be about 25 years since I last saw the genuine hair colour that lurked under the dye. When I was a hazel brown colour the grey stood out like a sore thumb.  When I was blonde the grey stood out like a sore thumb.  I am  now dye free and surprised to find that I rather like the new me. It is a little bit too short at the moment but as soon as it grows a bit I will post a pic of the new me.

  1. You look gorgeous no matter what. I have embraced the 'silver fox' look through sheer inertia and love it.xxxHave delved through the yarn heap and found enough aran yarn for a cardi. Winter is looming - no I didn't say which one:)x

    1. Thank you oh smooth talking one. x.... I too have a pattern for a cardi that I want to make but need to buy the yarn in order to knit it. I may put the yarn on my Christmas list

  3. I have made the decision to go natural once I am back from my holiday, I am guessing that I will definitely be grey if not almost white. Time will tell.

  4. Hi Cherie, I was completely grey before I turned thirty - so dyeing became too expensive and time consuming. It's now thirty-three years since I last had it coloured (how can that possibly be?) and I still love the grey. I also love the fact that I have saved a packet (spent it on craft supplies instead) and spared my body the chemicals which they used to use. You are young and I bet you look fabulous with your new look!
